What advantages do Sasha's Sun, Wind & Insect Protectors have over using a blanket, towel, or other opaque material to protect a child while in an infant carrier, stroller, carriage or jogging type sport vehicle?

Blankets are often used as sun screens, but these significantly increase the heat within the infant carrier, stroller, carriage, or jogging type vehicle, making it uncomfortable or even dangerously hot for the child. Blankets, which are opaque, prevent the parent/guardian from observing the child, and the child from observing the outside world. Blankets, some of which have loose knitting, allow flying insects to creep through them, possibly harming the child. These factors may serve to confuse the child or to upset its normal breathing rhythms.

Sasha's Sun, Wind & Insect Protectors keep the child cooler, are light weight, are more convenient, and are safer. The protectors allow the baby to see out and the parent/guardian to see in, affording both "peace of mind". Canopies help to protect a child somewhat from the sun, however, they are not designed to protect the child totally from the harmful heat and glare of the sun. And they give very little protection against the wind and harmful flying insects.

Sasha's protectors cover the canopy of an infant carrier, stroller, carriage or jogging type sport vehicle in such a way as to absorb up to 65% of the sun's heat, glare, and Ultraviolet UVA/UVB rays and thus provide additional much needed protection. Have Sasha's Sun, Wind & Insect Protectors been tested for safety?

Yes, testing was performed by a government approved independent testing laboratory. The uniquely woven and specially treated material passed the requirements of Toy Manufacturers of America (TMA), "Voluntary standard specification for reduction of DEHP in PVC pacifiers and teethers" and the requirements of ASTM F963-96a, "Standard consumer safety specification on toy safety," Section 4.3.8. It was found to be Non-Toxic as defined by the Federal Hazardous Substances Act Regulations, Title 16, Code of Federal Regulations, Section 1500.3. It is considered flame retardant as it has been tested and is in compliance with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No.302. It was also tested in accordance with ASTM Standard Test Method E903 and found to have an Ultraviolet UVA/UVB blockage of 67.7%.

The tightly woven material prevents most harmful flying insects from penetrating it, as well as deflecting strong winds (dust and debris), and therefore protects a child's delicate skin, body and eyes.

Simply sponge wash the protector using mild soap and warm water. Doing this will allow the protector to last a long time.

Can Sasha's Sun, Wind & Insect Protectors be used on objects other than infant carriers, carriages, strollers, and jogging type vehicles?

Yes, two of our protector models can be used in other ways. Our Universal Infant Carrier Model 101 (size - 18" x 24") can also be used to cover the back seat side window of a car while transporting the child. It can be used to cover a small window in the home, where the sun is heating up the window and glaring in. Our Stroller/Carriage/Jogging Type Sport Vehicle Model 301 can be easily used to cover a playpen, affixed to hang from an awning or umbrella, placed over a house or car window or etc. It can be used anywhere it can be attached, and where there is a need to protect a loved one. You can use it in the car, at the beach, in a park, in the backyard, or by the pool, etc., thus keeping children and adults cool, protected and comfortable while outdoors. This is due to its design, size (36" x 48"), ability to attach easily (uses hook and loop straps), and rectangular shape.

Our other model protectors, though not rectangular in shape, can also be used for some of the purposes listed above.

Can Sasha's Sun, Wind & Insect Protector be used to protect animals?

Yes, the Universal Carriage/Stroller/Jogging Type Sport Vehicle Protector (model 301), the Wrap Around Single Stroller Model Protector (model 401), the Wrap Around Double Stroller Protector (model 501), though not a perfect fit, are large enough to fit over most normal size dog and cat cages, and therefore can protect your loving pet while outdoors, however, just as with babies and small children, don't leave your pet out in the heat of day for long periods of time.
